Far from being a mimetic representation of the human body, Binebine and Galanda’s figures act as plastic structures often generating an extreme tension in the territory of their work. Carried along by the graphic and chromatic dynamic, the figures stretch, shrink, contort themselves… now as if they were trying to fill the space of the picture, now as if they were trying to cross its frontiers. Taking into account its shape, its consistency, its energy, its action, its desire, its constraint and its borders, the body is always restrained by the frame, with all that this submission can imply.
